On Saturday, October 27, the Irish Family History Forum will present Kathleen McGee who will speak on “Ireland’s Encumbered Estate Records.” She will discuss the effect of the famine on Ireland’s landed estates. She will also talk about the records that were kept as a result of the proceedings of the Encumbered Estates Courts established in 1849.

10:00 AM Genealogy 101 with Marie Scalisi
Marie, a professional genealogist and an officer of IFHF, will discuss Genealogy 101, our online guide to researching your Irish ancestors.
10:45 AM: Ask the Experts
This is an opportunity to meet one-on-one to with an experienced genealogist to ask a basic genealogy question.
Meet and socialize with other members.
11:15 AM: Featured Speaker, Kathleen McGee
The Irish Family History Forum (IFHF) is an Irish Genealogy Organization with members throughout Long Island, New York City and beyond. Meetings are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
The meeting will be held at Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Avenue, Bethpage.
